Albert Harding received an engineering degree from the Colorado School of Mines in 1937, and then served in the mining industry for over forty years. Working for Black Hills Bentonite, Harding lived in Moorcroft, Wyoming, from 1947 to 1963, and Casper from 1963 to 1978. He served on the Wyoming State Senate, and was elected its president in 1961. He also served a post for the U.S. Department of the Interior. He retired in Sun City, Arizona.
