Dolores (Boelens) Dace was born near Basin and educated at the University of Wyoming, although she has lived the past 42 years in Los Angeles. While raising her own children and teaching at a nursery school, she began taking pictures of children playing with their own shadows, which led to her first published work, “You Can’t Get Away from Your Shadow.”
