What is a "wiki?"

A wiki is a web page that many people can contribute to -- easily! Wyoming Authors Wiki contributors can add information about Wyoming books and authors, or make corrections to existing information in just minutes, from anywhere they have Internet access. If you'd like to contribute, please read our Contributor Agreement and Disclaimer, then register to receive the password.

Who can be listed in the Wyoming Authors Wiki?

Writers who have either lived in Wyoming or write about Wyoming and who have at least one book published. Please see our Author Inclusion Standards for the full guidelines.

I write books, but I don't live in Wyoming. May I be included?

Possibly, if you meet one or both of these criteria:

1. If you have lived in Wyoming at any point in your life, we would like to include you and all your books. When you create your page, please state in your biography when you lived here.
2. If you write books specifically about Wyoming, we would like to include you and only your Wyoming titles. These might be histories of Wyoming subjects, novels set primarily in Wyoming, etc. Regional books, for example, a history of Montana, Colorado and Wyoming, are not eligible. What information may I add?

That's the great thing about a wiki - you can add almost anything! In our New Author Instructions and Add an Author pages, you'll find a basic template explaining the things we'd like to know about our authors, but we're always open to new ideas that will give us more information about Wyoming's great literary heritage.

We do ask that you DO NOT add a few things, like copyrighted material (unless you own the rights), private information (think unlisted phone numbers), authors who don't meet our inclusion standards, advertising, personal attacks and illegal or obscene stuff. Read our Contributor Agreement for the full details.

I followed all the steps to register and received my invitation, but I can't access the wiki.

Sometimes it takes a little time. Give it an hour or two and try again. If you still can't access it, contact us.

I'm registered as a contributor. Why can't I edit this particular page?

Certain pages are locked and can only be edited by a Wyoming Authors Wiki administrator or trusted moderator. These might include instruction pages (like this one) or deceased authors. Contact us to apply to be a moderator.

How do I contact an author?

Not all authors want their contact information made public. If it's not on their wiki page or the author's web page, we recommend that you check with their publisher.
