Biographical and Professional Information

 

John Logan Allen was born in Laramie. He earned a B.A. (1963) and M.A. (1964) from the University of Wyoming before completing his Ph.D. at Clark University in Worcester, in 1969. He taught geography at the University of Connecticut for many years. A member of the Lewis and Clark Trail Heritage Foundation, he received a meritorious achievement award from that organization for his 1976 book, "Passage through the Garden." He is the chair of the geography department at the University of Wyoming.
