Biographical and Professional Information

 

Julene Bair is a former resident of Albany county, Wyoming. A 2004 National Endowment for the Arts Literature Fellow, Bair has published essays and fiction in periodicals ranging from the Chicago Tribune to the Iowa Review. Her book, One Degree West: Reflections of a Plainsdaughter, won Mid-list Press’s First Series Award and Women Writing the West’s Willa Award. Other prizes include two from the Wyoming Arts Council – the Warren Adler Award for the best story written in Wyoming and the Blanchan award for writing inspired by nature. A graduate of the Iowa Nonfiction Writing Program and of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, Bair has taught writing at the Universities of Wyoming and Iowa and in several workshops around the country.
